So THAT'S what happened.

Another kind soul who's really interested in this game said some things weren't working that I definitely remembered fixing a long time ago. In fact, the last bug report also had some familiar things. So for reasons I can't fathom, the only logical conclusion is that there was something wrong with the file I made updates to, even though I'm not really sure what happened or how.

So I dug up an EARLIER version of the game and did a playthrough of it. A couple of image files went missing when I packaged it (I just added them back in), but no more weird bugs in the code itself as far as I'm aware. And that's the version that's on the site right now.
